When it comes to energy saving, energy management is the process of monitoring, controlling, and conserving energy in a building, community, industry or even city. The core engine should measure the energy consumption, collect the data and then analyze it for patterns to save energy.

One would typically analyze the meter data to find and quantify routine energy waste, and one might also investigate energy savings by replacing equipment or by upgrading the infrastructure – or in-fact deploying other value-added applications such as leakage detection, dynamic demand side management or even revision of tariffs etc.

This would then be followed by taking action to target the opportunities to save energy and then following up with subsequent meter data to see how well the energy-saving efforts have worked.

Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI):

AMI is an integrated system including smart metering devices, the communication infrastructure, and data management (HES/MDM) systems that enables two-way communication between utilities and the end customers. This together with data analytics on metering data available can be used to identify opportunities for energy savings and optimization.

These solutions are used for electricity, water and gas metering applications in the respective utilities, as also, multi-utility applications within the infrastructure projects.

Whats is a HES/MDM?

Typically, the Head-end System (HES) or Meter data management (MDM) system unifies the metering data, coming from different data collection systems, and distributes the information to the backend systems. The integration with the utility systems is not limited to the integration with existing utility software systems but has an impact on the utility processes, which need to be adapted to the potentiality of an AMI system.

BTU Metering

BTU Meters (Thermal Energy Meters) are Smart Meters used to measure the thermal energy consumed. BTU meters are used in chilled / hot water systems for both commercial and Residential buildings. These meters are used to bill users on their actual energy usage. Smart EnerG+’s end to end solution starts with System Engineering, Identification of right type of BTU Meters and Automated meter reading system and Billing to support facility managers who shall generate seamlessly accurate bills based on metering data collected from the metering devices network.

Metering and Billing solutions shall include measurement devices, communication infrastructure, software systems as well as integration and commissioning services.
